Jamie Elizabeth Patterson

Jamie Elizabeth Patterson passed away February 24, 2018. She was born on June 19, 1952 in Atlanta and was preceded in death by her parents, James E. (Pat) Patterson and Jeannette (Jenny) Little Patterson of Decatur and her brother, David E. Patterson of Tucker. Jamie is survived by her brother, Michael and sister-law, Lori of Lake Worth, FL as well as aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Jamie graduated Columbia High School, Decatur, GA in 1970 and received her Undergraduate and Graduate degrees from Georgia Southern College in 1974 and 1976 respectively. An educator for over 30 years, Jamie began her teaching career at Screven County High School before moving to Walker High School / McNair High School in Dekalb County. She was lovingly called "Ms Pat" by her students.
A longtime fan of the Georgia Southern Eagles, the Atlanta Braves and Falcons, Jamie could often be heard cheering on her teams. A lifelong lover of animals, Jamie would find homeless cats, rescue them and then give them a safe and loving home with her.
On Tuesday, February 27th between Noon and 2PM there will be a Celebration of Jamie’s Life at A.S. Turner and Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Rd. in Decatur, GA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society. "Ms. Pat" will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
