Delanie (Lanie) Dunn McCrumb passed away September 7th, 2026. She was preceded in death by her parents, E.D. (Jack) Dunn and Elizabeth (Betty) Hall Dunn, her brother Mark Hall Dunn, and her sister-in-law Lori Taylor Dunn. She was born and grew up in Decatur, Georgia. She graduated from The Webb School and received a bachelor's degree from Mercer University in English. After graduation, Lanie was an Adjunct Professor at Mercer University while working towards her masters degree, and later taught at Bauder College. She became a business owner of L&M Construction and Remodeling with her husband, Michael McCrumb. Additionally, Lanie was the editor of several published books: "Chapter 13 Bankruptcy in Western District of Tennessee", "The Rules of Evidence: A Practical Toolkit", and "Social Security Disability Federal Court Appeals".
Lanie was known for her fiery and tenacious personality. She was also extremely loving, open-minded, and made friends wherever she went. Lanie adored her grandchildren, her cats, and laughing with her husband. She has made an everlasting impact on those who knew her.
Lanie is survived by her husband and love of her life, Michael Dallas McCrumb, her daughter Ailene (Allie) Elizabeth Rush (Ethan), grandchildren Edward (Liam) William Rush and Ryan Andrew Rush, and siblings Derrill Dunn McRae (John) and James David Dunn (Corinne). The family would like to thank and acknowledge the Emory Winship Cancer Institute for their care and guidance. We would like to also thank Lanie's caregivers from the One on One Personal Care company for their love, kindness, and friendship.
Arrangements for Lanie McCrumb will be shared in the coming weeks. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your local cat rescue in her memory.
