Funeral Assistance for Covid-19 Related Deaths
Eligible families will be able to apply directly through FEMA through a dedicated hotline for up to $9000.00 in Covid related funeral expenses.

Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Congress authorized FEMA to provide financial assistance to individuals who incurred COVID-19-related funeral expenses after January 20, 2020.
WASHINGTON -- In early April, FEMA will begin providing financial assistance for funeral expenses incurred after Jan. 20, 2020 for deaths related to coronavirus (COVID-19) to help ease some of the financial stress and burden caused by the pandemic. * The policy was finalized and FEMA is now moving rapidly to implement this funeral assistance program nationwide.

Note:
*The funeral home cannot authorize amending death certificates. The family will need to contact the attending doctor who initially signed the death certificate to request any changes. Please click HERE to learn about amending requests.
*This relief program will not allow any qualified reimbursable funds to be assigned to the funeral home. Any outstanding service bills will need to be paid directly by the family. The family can then apply for reimbursement relief through FEMA.
*If your funeral was already paid through government assistance, these funds will not qualify for reimbursement.
