Allen Melton

Mr. Robert Allen Melton, 81, of Decatur, passed away Saturday, February 10, 2018. He was preceded in death by his wife, Charlotte Cofer Melton. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Rick Hulsey and Amy and Jerry McEachin. Grandchildren: Allison Hulsey, Jerry McEachin, Nick McEachin, and Zac McEachin and family friend, Shai Cooper. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Snowdell Melton, brothers, Leroy and Wendell Melton and sister, Jeanette Farmer. He is survived by his sister-in-law, Louise Melton; brother and sister-in-law, James and Penny Melton; sister and brother-in-law, Linda and Norman Snider; brother-in-law and sister-in law, Richard and Shirley Cofer, and many nieces and nephews.

Allen was a graduate of Tucker High School in 1954, a member of the Naval Reserve, Tucker Jaycees (President), a member of the Tucker Lodge, a home builder/renovation contractor, a Deacon at Rehoboth Baptist Church, and was a school bus driver for DeKalb County Public Schools, where he retired.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, February 13, from 2 - 4 pm and 6 - 9 pm at A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home in Decatur. Funeral services will be on Wednesday, February 14, at 2:00 pm at Rehoboth Baptist Church, Tucker, GA.
