Andrew (Andy) Washington Cain III, 51, of Decatur, GA, died Saturday, January 1,2005, at Emory University Hospital of complications from lung cancer. Born on May 3, 1953 in Chattanooga, TN, he was the son of Andrew W. Cain, Jr., and Mary Marguerite Chester Cain of Rossville, Georgia. He graduated from McCallie School in Chattanooga, earned a B.A. from Emory University, and received an M.B.A. from Georgia State University. He was a Life Loyal member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was a professional accountant, most recently employed as a grants and contracts accountant at Emory University. One of the great loves of Andy's life was choral music. He sang with the Chattanooga Boy Choir and with the Men's Glee Club and Chamber Singers at Emory.  He was a long-time member of the Collegium Vocale, a community chorus based at Emory University, and a loyal member of the chancel choir at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church. He also sang with the William Baker Festival Singers and the Summer Singers of Atlanta. He performed throughout the Atlanta area, in Savannah, Carrollton, and Charleston, SC. Andy is survived by his wife of more than 26 years, Virginia (Ginger) Hicks Cain; sisters, Barbara Cain Ellison and Bonnie Cain Walker, along with her husband, William R. Walker; nieces Karin Denice Ellison, Robin Walker Rothfuss, Pamela Walker Hubbard, and Evelyn Ellison Twitchell, along with their husbands; four great-nephews; a great-niece; and sister-in-law, Jane Hicks Jeter, her husband, Sheldon M. Jeter, and their son, Jefferson Moseley Jeter. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 8, at 3:00 p.m. at Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, Dr. Wesley Wachob officiating. The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, 1660 North Decatur Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30307-1010, designated for the Music Fund; to the Emory University Libraries, 540 Asbury Circle, Atlanta, GA 30322-2870, designated for the Emory Archives Fund; or to a charitable organization of the donor's choice.
