Ann Keen Pittman

Ann Keen Pittman, of Decatur, died Jan. 13, 2012. She was 84 years old. Funeral services are to be held Saturday, Jan. 28, at Holy Trinity Parish – Episcopal Church, Decatur, Georgia, at 12:00
noon.Mrs. Pittman was born in Macon, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. O. F. Keen. Her husband, William N. Pittman, preceded her in death. Survivors include her brother, Marshall Keen of Juliette, and sister, Carey Keen Greene of Americus. She was retired from Nations Bank, formerly C & S Bank and now Bank of America. She was V. P. of Pension and Profit Sharing and Retirement Planning from 1969 through 1997. In college she attended Randolph-Macon Woman's College for two years and then completed her degree at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. Mrs. Pittman was indeed a world traveler; she even took the "silk road" trip through China when it was just opening to tourists from the West. She was an accomplished weaver, an avid kayaker and a long- time bird watcher with the Atlanta Audubon Society. She was a member of the Junior League of Macon and Atlanta. After retiring, she spent her summers in her cottage on the bay near Santa Rosa Beach, Fla. Her greatest love there was volunteering at the local Caring & Sharing facility for the needy. She was very generous; she was much loved and admired by many. Many thanks should go to Mrs. Pittman's niece, Cynthia Keen Maxwell of Cumming, who was like a daughter to her as a caregiver in her later years. A. S. Turner & Sons.
