Anna "Susie" Wilkie

Daughter of the late John and Mary Ward, Ms. Anna Wilkie passed away on August 25, 2021 at 7:34 a.m at Emory Decatur Hospital. She was a New York native and made it known any chance she was able. She was a widow to her late husband Herbert Wilkie.
She was a fireball that would light up the room any chance she had. She loved with everything she had and she fought to make it known even through her last days. She was known for her great cooking, especially her brownies. She loved to grow anything she could eat, and made sure if you went to visit her, you would leave with all of her gifts of homegrown food. Her 2 dogs pepper and salty were everything to her. She definitely was an angel to this world, and whether she knew it or not, she IS the golden rock of the entire family and always will be.
She is survived by her 3 children, Jean Wilkie, John Wilkie and Michael Wilkie. She was "Granny" to Christina Enriquez, Anna Gomez, Joshua Hutcheson, and Ray Hutcheson; LJ Wilkie, Thomas, Tim, Andrew and Ashleigh Wilkie; Avery and Henry Wilkie. She was "Great-Granny" to EJ, Gaby, Daniel, Eleyas, Rico, Skyler, Lily, Maddy, RJ, JJ, Miki, Aiden, Darcy, Hayden, Ryder, and Caleb Wilkie. She is also survived by her brothers, Michael and Joe Ward, and her niece and nephew, James and Anna Marie.

She loved when she could get together with multiple family members, but that did not happen much during her last few years. The family will receive friends at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur on Monday (8/30) and Tuesday (8/31) from noon until 4 p.m. We are asking you to join us in sending her "home" for her home going service on Wednesday September 01, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church.
