Arlis D. Wyatt

Arlis D. Wyatt, age 82, died Friday, October 29, 2010 after complications resulting from a heart attack, Saturday September 4th. Mrs. Wyatt was born January 6, 1928 in Carroll County Georgia. She married David Kenneth Humphrey in June 1949. After his death in 1967, she continued to reside in Decatur, Georgia and raised her children. In May 1976 she married John L. Wyatt and after both retiring from the Georgia Power Company, they moved permanently to the mountains of north Georgia. After Mr. Wyatt's death in 2006, Mrs. Wyatt returned to Decatur, residing at Clairmont Place until her death. She was a former member of Chapel Heights Baptist Church, Heritage Hills Baptist Church, Blue Ridge Baptist Church and presently Clairmont Hills Baptist Church. She was a member of the Georgia Power Ambassador organization. She is survived by her son, Michael Humphrey (Veronica);daughter, Pamela Humphrey Harrison (Bob), sister, Sandra Clements (Jerry), brother, Sterlyn Denney (Anita), sister in law, Betty Humphrey Thompson (Hubert), stepsons, Doug Wyatt (Lila) and Jeff Wyatt (Eva), as well as grandchildren, nieces, nephews and great nieces. Services will be held Tuesday, November 2, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Clairmont Hills Baptist Church, 1995 Clairmont Rd., Decatur, GA 30033 or the American Heart Association, 1101 Northchase Pkwy. SE, #1, Marietta, GA 30067. The family will receive friends Monday, November 1st from 6:00 to 9:00 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
