Avenelle O. Carroll

Avenelle "Nell" Osborne Carroll, 90, of Decatur, beloved wife and mother, passed away on February 15, 2016. Born December 7, 1925, in Atlanta, she was the daughter of the late William and Vietta Osborne. Avenelle was a long member of Avondale First Baptist Church and enjoyed shopping, cooking, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her loving husband of 72 years, John E. Carroll; two daughters, Rita Waddell and her fiance, Stephen Morton, and Yvonne and her husband, Alvin Powell; son, Mark Carroll; grandson, Jason Powell and his wife, Krissi; great granddaughters, Kameryn and Kymber Powell; brother, William (Bill) Osborne and his wife, Judy; and many more family and friends.

The family will receive friends at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 18, with a service at 12:30 p.m., at A.S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Chris Mullis officiating. A graveside service will follow at Dawn Memorial Park Decatur, GA.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Avondale First Baptist Church.
