Beatrice Casimir

The beloved Beatrice Anne Casimir, 84, (nicknamed Bea) died peacefully at her home, in Fayetteville, Georgia, USA, on December 20, 2021. Born in Cap-Haitien, Haiti,  on November 14, 1937, she was the daughter of Emmanuel and Georgette (Semerand) Casimir. After her classical schooling, Beatrice left her native city Cap-Haitian to migrate to Port-au-Prince, the Capital of Haiti, where she studied culinary arts under the tutelage of the very well known Madame Benoît Paillere.Beatrice demonstrated passion, dedication, and commitment for the arts of cuisine, cooking and baking. Her meals repertoire and hors d’oeuvre were as pleasing to the eyes as they were to the palates of her numerous siblings, friends, and extended family members. Her degree and savoir faire in culinary arts led her to be hired by the Ministry of Social Affairs in Haiti as professor of domestic economy. For several years, she taught cuisine, food preparation, culinary arts, cooking, cake baking and lifestyle etiquette to numerous young ladies in Haiti. She travelled to become a US permanent resident in 1994. After a short stay in New Jersey with her brother Deschamps who petitioned for her, Beatrice had shared home with her best friend Marlene Mahotiere  in Stone Mountain, Georgia. She worked in the stewardship department at the Atlanta Downtown Hilton Hotel for 13 years as “Responsible of silverware, chaffing ready for banquet.” She retired in 2015 and has lived since then with her unique daughter Maritza (Casimir) Joly, her son in law Rene Joly and grandchildren Samantha and Nathanael Joly as well as her sister Amelie Casimir. Beatrice will be forever remembered as a dedicated, faithful and devout Christian Catholic. She was deeply religious and loving woman of God. Under the cover of darkness, she  waked  up early mornings while most were still asleep to visit several  parishes and churches around Port-au-Prince. Every year, she travelled to different states to participate in the Haitian charismatic Catholic Church gathering in the US. She was an active speaker making conversation one on one an art. Her smile, eye contact and body language were always engaged in her arguing. She was an avid newspaper reader, active radio listener, and TV watcher. She was always ready to share her comments on the recent current events and latest news.She is survived by her unique beloved daughter Maritza (Mama) Joly born Casimir, her son-in-law Rene Joly and her two grandchildren Samantha and Nathanael Joly; eleven cherished siblings, their respective spouses; and many dear cousins, nieces and many many other extended family members and friends.

The funerals of Beatrice Anne Casimir will be celebrated on Monday, January 3rd 2022 at 11:00 am at the Atlanta Saint-Pierre and Saint Paul Catholic Church.

The inhumation will be held at Fairview Memorial Gardens in Atlanta.
