Betty L. Paschal Clayton

Betty L (Paschall) Clayton, 83, of Avondale Estates, died May 10, 2008.  Born in Daytona Beach, Florida, Mrs. Clayton Graduated from Seabreeze High School and attended Marjory Webster Junior College in Washington DC.  She moved to Atlanta in 1951 and lived in Avondale Estates since 1955 and was an active and caring member of Avondale-Pattillo United Methodist Church and its Joy Sunday School Class.  Mrs. Clayton also was a member of Avondale Women?s Club, Avondale Garden Club, American Legion Auxiliary at Post 66 and the Central DeKalb Republican Women.  She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Clayton and is survived by her husband of 59 years, Gerald Clayton; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Peggy Clayton of Avondale Estates, Gary and Del Clayton of Snellville; former daughter-in-law and her husband, Kathie and Rick Pierce of College Park; seven grandchildren; and one great grandson.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, May 13, at 11:00 AM at Avondale-Pattillo United Methodist Church, with Rev David Allen Grady officiating.  Interment will be at  Philadelphia Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Morrow.    Those desiring may make a memorial contribution, in memory of Betty Clayton, to the Methodist Children?s Home, 500 Columbia Dr., Decatur GA 30030.  The family will receive friends from 5:30 to 7:30 PM Monday evening at A. S. Turner and Sons.
