Bruce Richard Chowning

Bruce Richard Chowning, Park Trace Apartments, Decatur, GA, died suddenly at home October 26, 2010. He was born July 23, l955 in Lakeland, FL to Marjorie Chandley and Charles Chowning Sr. He was reared in Lake Wales, FL, among loving relatives and friends. As he matured his life expanded to a career as musician. He wrote and published songs and performed in venues in Florida, Georgia, San Francisco and Madison, WI. In his teens he started a lifetime of active Christian service as a resident of His House and World Outreach Ministry in Macon, GA; and Church of the Nazarene, Lake Wales, FL. In his mid twenties he attended Elim Bible College, Surrey England, served Elim Churches in England on the weekends; worked in a youth ministry in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, visited L'Abre in Switzerland, churches in Finland and lived in London for some time. Survivors include his mother; brothers; Charles Edward, Jr., Christopher Dru, and M. Gregory Chowning as well as sister-in-law Joan C. Chowning, two uncles, one aunt, two nephews and one grandniece, many cousins and friends. Memorial services will be held November 6, 2010, at 2PM at Park Trace Apartments, 700 Atlanta Avenue, Decatur, GA, and in February at Grape Hammock Fish Camp, near Lake Wales, Florida, owned by cousins Barbie and Curtis Chandley. The ashes will be scattered in the waters of Kissimmee Lake and River.
