C. L. Deadwyler, Jr., 81, of and Bent Tree, , Georgia, passed away . He was born on in , TN and lived in , FL. His family moved to in 1944 where he attended HillsHigh School AtlantaGeorgiaStateUniversity, graduating from GeorgiaStateUniversity. He married Virginia Lee Allen, on November 20, 1948Atlanta. He retired in 1993. He loved his wife, family, friends, Packards, and Big Band music. He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Virginia Lee Allen Deadwyler; a brother, Joe Davis Deadwyler and sister-in-law, Betty Jane; children and spouses, Richard Allen Deadwyler and Rebecca (Aamoth), William Douglas Deadwyler and Carolyn (Sisk), Nancy Deadwyler Baird, Catherine Deadwyler Hardeman and David Alan Hardeman, and Laura Virginia Deadwyler; 12 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren who will all miss him greatly. Services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons at 2 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2009 with Rev. Laura Jernigan officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Friday at A. S. Turner & Sons.. C.L. worked at General Motors as an inspector while attending college. He sold real estate, was a residential contractor, then a Real Estate Appraiser in where he attended Georgia Tech and , graduating in 1945. C. L. served his country in the Navy from 1945 unti1 1947.
