Carol Ann Scarborough Miller

Carol Ann Scarborough Miller of Stone Mountain died suddenly on Monday, November 14, 2005.  She was born on February 23, 1950 in Baltimore, Maryland, Carol earned education degrees from the University of Georgia - Athens and Georgia State University.  She recently retired from the DeKalb County School System after a long and stellar career.  She was preceded in death by her father, Dawson "Dusty" Scarborough. She is survived by her mother and step-father, Gladys S. and Thaddeus Green of Beaverdam, Virginia; her grandmother, Dorothy Goerke, age 95, of Westminster, Maryland; her sister, Martha "Marty" Travis and niece, Victoria Travis of Richmond, VA; her sister and brother-in-law, Lynn and Thomas Alford, nephews, Joshua and William Alford and niece, Carly Alford, all of Richmond; best friend, Pam Roberts of Stone Mountain and many other special friends.  Carol will be missed by her family and friends and those who knew her constant smile and infectious laughter. Memorial services will be held on Thursday, November 17, at 5:00 pm in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons. The family will receive friends from 4 to 5 pm and after the Thursday evening service at A. S. Turner & Sons.   In lieu of flowers, contributions may be sent to the American Heart Association, the American Lung Association, any organ donation organization, or a charity of your choice.  A.
