Catherine Clotilde Troncalli

Catherine Clotilde Troncalli, age 88 of Stone Mountain, GA was born the youngest of six children October 27, 1923 to George and Marie Pottinger in Valley Springs, SD. She was raised and educated in Ft. Myers, Florida. Catherine, known as Kay, passed away on Wednesday February 8th after a long illness. Kay was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Troncalli of 66 years of marriage and her grandson Donnie Brown. She is survived by her four children and their spouses: Ed & Genie Troncalli, Tom & Dianne Troncalli, Wayne & Catherine Brown, Charlie & Sharon Troncalli, 11 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. She enjoyed making her home a welcome place as a Cub Scout and Blue Bird leader. Later she enjoyed traveling with the Funseekers and Georgia Ramblers motor home clubs, boating with the Atlanta Sail & Power Squadron, gardening with the Jasmine garden club of the DeKalb Federation of Garden Clubs and worshiping at Corpus Christi Catholic Church and Saint Thomas Moore Catholic Church.

Through all of her many activities and interests, Kay was always a lover of cats. She had only one cat at any time, but that cat was an important family member, and stayed by her side, even when traveling with her husband Sam on their many motor home trips. Kay had a plaque on her kitchen wall which read: "He who dislikes the cat, was in a former life a rat." Kay was a wonderful and caring wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and will be sorely missed by all.

A visitation for family and friends will be Sunday, February the 12th from 5 to 7pm followed by prayers at 7pm in the chapel at A.S. Turner & Son, 2773 North Decatur Rd., Decatur, GA. The funeral services will be on Monday the 13th at 11am at Saint Thomas More Church, 636 W. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, GA. There will be graveside service immediately following at the Decatur Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Georgia Chapter, 41 Perimeter Center East, Suite 550, Atlanta, Georgia 30346
