Charles Sims Mercer, Jr., 77, of Stone Mountain died Tuesday, December 1, 2009. A life long resident of DeKalb County, he was a self employed land surveyor. He graduated from Decatur Boys High in 1949 and attended Ga. Tech. Mr. Mercer proudly served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Preceded in death by his daughter, Carol Anne Mercer he is survived by his loving wife, Rachel Carolyn Mercer; son, Charles E. Mercer; daughters, Val (Scott) Moore of Buford, Lynn Mercer of Knoxville, TN; and grandchildren, Charles Sims Mercer, Leah Moore, and Will Moore.
