Charles William Mccoy, Sr.

July 28, 1930 — July 27, 2008

Mr. Charles “Chuck” McCoy, Sr. of Stone Mountain, died July 27, 2008 at Odyssey House Hospice. Mr. McCoy owned and operated McCoy Testing and Engineering and was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church. Mr. McCoy served in the U.S. Coast Guard during the Korean War and worked for the Corp of Army Engineers in Virginia. He was a life member of the VFW and a member of the American Legion Post 0066. Mr. McCoy cherished his family, his golfing buddies, his business associates, and his friends. Mr. McCoy is survived by his wife of 46 years, Dixie; children; Charles “Skip” McCoy, Jr. and wife Leslie, Mitchell McCoy and wife Tracy, Celia McCoy and husband Eric Ainsworth; grandchildren; “Charlie” McCoy, III, Brian and Augustus McCoy, and Andrew Ainsworth. A memorial service will be held on August 2, 2008 in the chapel of A.S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home at 2:00 pm. The family will receive friends at 1:00 prior to the service.
