Clara Campbell Lawrence

March 7, 1917 — October 23, 2007

Mrs. Clara Campbell Lawrence of Decatur, GA passed away peacefully October 23, 2007.  She was a graduate of the University of Georgia with Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Home Economics.  Mrs. Lawrence touched the lives of thousands of students in Georgia during her long career as a career high school teacher, having taught in Fort Valley, GA; Gainesville, GA; Bass Junior High in Atlanta; and Walter F. George High School in Atlanta, and Walters F. George High School in Atlanta. She was a member of Druid Hills Presbyterian Church for 50 years.  Mrs. Lawrence was the loving wife of William F. Lawrence, Sr. for 57 years.  She enjoyed attending her garden club meetings, and was an engaging and expert bridge player, as many of her friends will attest.  Mrs. Lawrence served her community through volunteer efforts at Druid Hills Baptist Church and Druid Hills Presbyterian Church.  She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Larry and Beth Lawrence,  and Eleanor Lawrence of Atlanta; son, Steven E. Lawrence of Cocoa Beach, FL; grandchildren, Robyn and Matt Lawrence of Birmingham, Greg Lawrence of Woodstock, GA, Stephanie Lawrence of New York City; and great-grandchildren, Jakob and Mia Lawrence of Birmingham; and several beloved nieces and nephews.  In lieu of flowers, friends, and relatives are encouraged to make a memorial gift to Druid Hills Presbyterian Church, 1026 Ponce de Leon Avenue, NE, Atlanta, GA  30306. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 26, 2007 at North Druid Hills Presbyterian Church.  Rev. Cader Howard officiating.
