Coleman Lee Adams, Jr.

Mr. Coleman Lee Adams, Jr. of Atlanta, GA died September 10, 2008. He was a graduate of Boys’ High School in Atlanta, GA and attended EmoryUniversity, and Draughon’s School of Commerce. He was a veteran of World War II, having served from 1942 until 1945 in the European Theater, from which he retired as a Technical Sergeant. He was in the 586^st Bomb Group, 9^th Air Force, Army Air Corps. from July 1944 until March 1945; he flew 35 combat missions. During his service he was awarded the Air Medal with five oak leaf clusters. His working years were spent doing what he loved, working as a medical and surgical supply salesman until his retirement in 1990. He was a life time member, deacon, and held multiple offices at PeachtreeBaptistChurch. He was preceded in death by his Father, Coleman Lee Adams, Sr., and his Mother Belle Smith Adams. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Margaret Blue Adams; his sons, Coleman Lee Adams, III and his wife Cynthia Baldwin Adams of Beaufort, NC; William Stephen Adams and his wife Malka Adams of Alon Shvut, Israel; and his daughter, Ginger Adams Schnell and Carol Procter of Johnson City, TN; his sister, Clothilde Adams Ferguson of Atlanta, GA; 13 grandchildren whom he dearly loved; eight great grandchildren; and countless friends. A memorial service will be held at PeachtreeBaptistChurch at 11:00 am, Friday, September 12, 2008. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PeachtreeBaptistChurch.
