Daniel Mercer Grimes Sr.

Daniel Mercer Grimes, Sr., age 81, passed away July 7, 2017. Danny is the son of James Rivers Grimes and Annie Maude Mercer. Danny was born August 26, 1935 in Milledgeville, GA, where he was raised and attended Georgia Military College. After graduating from GMC, he went on to obtain degrees in Business and Law from the University of Georgia, and then moved to Atlanta to begin a career with Georgia Power Company.

Danny is survived by his loving wife Lillie of 56 years; sons Stuart Grimes, and Mercer Grimes and his wife Traci and their three children Rachel, Briana and Hayden. He is also survived by his sister Sue Abbott of Colorado.

Visitation will be July 11th from 6pm until 8pm at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home in Decatur, GA. The funeral service will be July 12th at 1pm at Peachtree Baptist Church in Atlanta, followed by a graveside service at the cemetery adjacent to the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Peachtree Baptist Church.
