Daniel Richard Lynn

Dan was a native to Atlanta, raised in Virginia Highlands by his father, Curtis and mother, Marie. After finishing high school at St. Pius X, Dan attended Georgia State University, where he was involved at the university radio station, WRAS, and was more commonly known by his DJ name, "Dangerous Dan."
Following graduation from Georgia State University, Dan moved to Columbus,GA in the early 1980’s to work at WRBL-TV as the weekend sports anchor. Shortly after, he met his wife, Debi and the two moved to Montgomery, AL in 1985 as Dan continued working for the station as the weekday sports anchor. In 1990 he moved back to Atlanta and a year later Dan and his wife Debi welcomed their first child, Amanda. In 1996, Dan and Debi were blessed again with a second child, Aaron. In that time, Dan covered the Southeast territory selling broadcast equipment, but never abandoned his passion for sports. Dan remained, throughout his life, a freelance sports reporter for Fox Sports /NBC / SRN and Sirius XM Radio. Last season he covered all 70 home games for the Atlanta Braves and Atlanta Falcons.
Dan was an active member of his community, running for Sugar Hill city council and was elected President of his neighborhood's HOA. He also helped stop construction of the Northern Arc, which would have displaced many families. Anybody who knew Dan also knew he had a big heart and the gift of gab, which allowed him to take up many causes during his lifetime. He was always ready to fight for justice and speak for those who couldn't. Dan touched many lives and will be deeply missed by his friends and family.
