Dewey Thomas Hawkins

HAWKINS, DEWEY T, age 80, passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 30, 2008 in Decatur, GA. He served his country in the U. S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Hawkins was a member of Avondale First Baptist Church, and a former Deacon at Wesley Hills Baptist and Bethel Baptist Churches. Dewey was born on February 1, 1928 to John and Minnie Hawkins in Atlanta, GA. Dewey is survived by his wife of 55 years, Judy; son, Ralph (Teresa) Hawkins of Loganville, GA; son, Gerald (Suzanne) Hawkins of Pendergrass, GA; son, Alan (Melinda) Hawkins of Conyers, GA; son, Keith (Karen) Hawkins of Snellville, GA; brother, Fred Parks of Little Mountain, GA; brother, Byron Hawkins of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Nell (Raymond) Walden of Carrollton, GA; sister, Martha (Ben) Hyde of Conyers, GA; grandchildren, Lisa (Richard) Rivera, Jason Hawkins, Kelli (Chris) Britt, Eric Hawkins, Brett Hawkins, Leah Hawkins, Joseph Hawkins, Reid Hawkins, Kristin Hawkins, Preston Hawkins, Allison Hawkins, Melissa Hawkins, Chase Hawkins, Chelsea Hawkins, Matt Dryden, Mitchell Dryden, Kate Dryden; great grandchildren; Cortlyn Britt, Kellen Britt, Kyan Rivera. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, November 2, 2008 at 2:30 PM at Avondale Estates First Baptist Church. The family will be receiving visitors on Saturday, November 1, 2008 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at A.S. Turner & Sons in Decatur, GA.(404) 292-1551
