Don Charles Stanhope

Don C. Stanhope, 84, of Decatur, GA passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 in Atlanta, GA. He was born on November 19, 1929 in Winter, WI. He was the son of Dale and Columbia Stanhope. Don grew up in Northern Wisconsin and was an avid outdoorsman. He was a devoted fan of the Wisconsin Badgers, the Green Bay Packers and the Atlanta Braves. Don is survived by seven children; Gregory (Kelly) Stanhope of Florence, AL; Matthew (Maureen) Stanhope of Acworth, GA; David (Chris) Stanhope of Decatur, GA; Timothy Stanhope of Vestavia, AL; Chris Stanhope of Madison, WI; Dona (Philip) Hohensee of Madison, WI and Don (Angela) Stanhope of John's Creek, GA; 16 grandchildren and one brother, Norman Stanhope of Pasadena, CA and one sister, Inez Toepfer of Stoughton, WI, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Dale Stanhope. In lieu of flowers please make a donation to your favorite charity in Don's name. Memorial services with be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
