Donald "Jake" Grisewood

Donald J. Grisewood Sr., 74, of Decatur passed away on March 7. Known as Jake by friends, and Donnie by family members, he was born on August 17, 1941 in Belmont, NY to Mortimer Grisewood, Sr. and Marian Rulison Grisewood. After graduating from high school in New York, Donald enrolled in the United States Navy where he learned to be an electrician. While in Reno, NV, he met and married his wife, Betty Jean Grisewood. He was honorably discharged from the Navy following a severe vehicle accident. The family moved to Texas where Donald attended San Angelo State University. After graduation and becoming a CPA, he went to work for the Internal Revenue Service for 21 years. After leaving the IRS, Donald started his own practice from his home. He grew the practice and it is now located in Tucker, GA. Donald is survived by his brother, Mortimer Grisewood of Belmont, NY, and two children, Stacey Pickard of Stone Mountain and D.J. Grisewood, Jr of Tucker. He is also survived by five grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the American Kidney Foundation. A visitation will be held at A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur, GA on Thursday March 10, 2016 from 4:00 pm until 5:00 pm with a prayer service being held at 5:00 pm. A.S.
