Donald Lanier Wise

Donald Lanier Wise, 76, of Tucker, died February 12, 2013. A native of Porterdale, Mr. Wise served his country in the U. S. Army during the late 1950's as an MP in Germany. He was a retired district manager for the DeKalb County School System's Special Needs Transportation Department, where he was employed for over 24 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Martha Wade Wise; daughter, Jenifer Farid of Tucker; daughter and son-in-law, Christie and Jeff Lissemore of Loganville; son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Tracy Wise of Lilburn; six grandchildren; four great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Janey and Gene Hooper of Oxford; several nieces and nephews. A memorial service, with military honors, will be held 2 p.m., Saturday, February 16, in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons. For those desiring, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. The family will receive friends beginning at 1 p.m. prior to the service at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
