Doris Daniel Jones

Mrs. Doris Ellen (Dee) Jones, born July 2, 1928, was called to join her husband, family and her beloved pet Baby on March 10, 2009, in God’s Kingdom.  She was a social worker for Decatur City Schools in the 1970’s and was responsible for starting the food program at Beacon Elementary School. She earned her MSW at age 50 and worked at Grady Hospital until 1985. Mrs. Jones spent her whole life serving God and helping others.  She is survived by her two sons, daughter-in-law; three grandchildren; two brothers and a sister.  A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 5th at North Decatur United Methodist Church with Rev. Lee Fullerton officiating.  The family will receive friends in the Fellowship Hall immediately following the service. A. S. Turner & Sons
