Dorothy C. Smith

Dorothy C. McCurley Smith, age 93, of Marietta, passed away on Sunday, May 27, 2015. She was born on December 14, 1921 in Hartwell, GA to Charles Jackson and Lizzie Mae Reynolds Cordell. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Jack Turner McCurley and later second husband, Grady Thomas Smith; and brothers, Joe Albert Cordell, Rayford Jackson Cordell and Guy Brent Cordell. Dorothy is survived by her children, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Alan (Ramonda) McCurley of Lawrenceville, GA, Mr. and Mrs. John Oran (Lisa McCurley) Squier of Marietta, GA and Mr. and Mrs. T. Wayne (Glenda) Smith of Grayson, GA; her sister, Bobbie Cordell Cochran of Hartwell, GA; grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Tito (Heather) Rivera, Mr. and Mrs. Steve (Mitzi English) Whidden, Mr. Jeremy Alan McCurley, Mr. and Mrs. Daniel (Jana Carol McCurley) Brackett and Miss Katelyn Elizabeth Squier. She is also survived by a great many loving great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and cherished friends. Funeral services will be held in the chapel of A. S. Turner and Sons at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. Interment will follow at Resthaven Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends the hour prior to the service, beginning at 12:00 noon at A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
