Dorothy P. Manuel

The funeral services for Dorothy P. Manuel, age 90, who passed away on August 28, 2012, will be conducted by Rev. Gregory Smith at Briarcliff Baptist Church, 10:00am Saturday, Sept 1st. Dorothy was born Sept 16, 1921 in Thomasville, NC to the late John Boone Peace and Mamie Peace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Manuel. Dorothy was a graduate of Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Winston-Salem, NC. She was a charter member of Briarcliff Baptist Church, and served on the Kingsbridge Retirement Center board. Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Steve and his wife Susan of Flat Rock, NC and John of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons, Will and his wife Margaret of Kennesaw, GA, Robert and his wife Patricia of Quantico, VA and four great-grandchildren. Visitation is at A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home, 6:30-8:00pm on Friday. The funeral will be at 10:00am on Saturday, and a graveside service will be conducted in Thomasville, NC on Sunday. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Glen and Anne Waldrop scholarship fund, through Briarcliff Baptist Church., 3039 Briarcliff Rd., Atlanta, GA 30329.
