Dorothy Scott Stevenson

 
Dorothy S. Stevenson "Grandot" passed away October 10, 2016 at age 96.  She is survived by her son, Scott Stevenson(Julie) of Decatur, GA,; granddaughter, Cynthia E. Stevenson of San Ramon, CA;  grandson, Todd S. Stevenson(Shannon) of Louisville, CO and 2 great grandsons, Ben and Wyatt Stevenson.  She is also survived by sisters Mildred Haynes of Starke, FL, and Betty Keane of Roswell, GA; a brother, Charles F. Scott and various nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by brothers David G. Scott and Alexander"Jack" Scott.
     For many years, she headed up the Pastor's Aid committee at Decatur Presbyterian Church visiting the home bound members of the church and assisting with distributing altar flowers to the home bound and shut-ins.
     The loves of her life were her grandchildren.  She delighted in attending ball games, recitals, and supporting all their activities.  Her extended family was also very dear to her, taking joy in her nieces and nephews. She cherished the many friends she made over the years .  She was active in Jr. League of Dekalb County for years.
     A memorial service will be held Friday, October 14 at 1:00pm at Decatur Presbyterian Church with visitation following in the parlor.
     In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her name to Decatur Presbyterian Church or to Northlake Gardens Resident Council, 1300 Montreal Rd., Tucker, GA 30084. A. S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
