Dr. W. Earl Bobo

February 5, 1938 — March 8, 2007

Dr. W. Earl Bobo died on Thursday, March 8, 2007 due to complications of Alzheimer's disease.  A native of Atlanta, he graduated from Decatur High School, Emory University and Emory University School of Medicine.  He practiced general surgery at DeKalb Medical Center until his retirement.  He is survived by his wife, Kathy M. Bobo; two daughters, Lane B. Steele and Donna B. Braswell; son, William E. Bobo and stepdaughter, Kara C. Ziegler; sister, Penny B. DeHaan; 4 granddaughters; 2 grandsons; and 1 step granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews; his two dogs, Cindy and Cody; and his 2 cats, Dawson and Kitty.  The family would like to express gratitude to the wonderful and compassionate care provided by the entire staff of Embracing Hospice, Fountain Drive, Snellville, GA.  A memorial service will be held at 3:30 P.M. Sunday, March 11th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons.  Dr. Harold D. Zwald will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be directed to the Alzheimer's Association, Albany, GA Chapter, c.o. Nancy Goode, 1512-1 Gillionville Rd., Albany, GA  31707, or the local Humane Society. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 to 3:30 P.M. at A. S. Turner & Sons.
