Edsel J. Reed, 84, of Atlanta, GA, born 12-2-1927, Morristown, TN, died 10-28-2012, Atlanta, GA. He was predeceased by: his father, Horace B. Reed; mother, Marcus Carthron Reed; brother, H. B. Reed and many beloved , aunts, uncles, in-laws, and friends. He is survived by his wife, Frances H. Reed; sons; Scott E. Reed and David R. Reed; daughter, Katherine D. Reed; grandchildren, Steven Reed, Courtney Reed, Jeffrey Reed, Peden Katherine Henderson and Liam Reed Henderson; daughters-in-law, Delphine Reed, Alicia Reed and Elizabeth Shammash; son-in-law, R. Craig Henderson; brothers, George Thomas Reed and Marcus Carthron Reed; cousins, Kathryn Diane Reed Penn, Jim Reed and Robbie Patterson McAlister; many beloved in-laws, nieces, nephews, friends, and members of the Reed clan. Edsel grew up in Knoxville, TN and attended Rule High School and the University of Tennessee. Served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Retired from the printing industry in Atlanta, GA. Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 3, 2012, at 1:00PM in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons, 2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA 30031, 404-292-1551with Rev. Rebecca Reed officiating. A reception will follow at the home of Scott and Delphine Reed. In lieu of flowers, cards or notes are appreciated, or simply thank a Veteran for his or her service.
