Edward Burks Eisenhardt, Jr.

June 23, 1928 — December 29, 2007

Edward Burks Eisenhardt, 79, died December 29, 2007.  An Atlanta native, Edward was the son of the late Pauline Morrison and Edward Burks Eisenhardt, Sr.  He attended Atlanta Boys High and was an Eagle Scout.  He was a graduate of the University of Georgia where he was a member of Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity. Edward was employed by Wausau Insurance Company as a Claims Adjuster.  He later became a Workers Compensation Claims Manager.  He was also on the Workers Compensation Advisory Committee for the State of Georgia for 16 years, appointed by the different Governors of Georgia.  He was the past President of the Atlanta Claims Association.  He was a member of Oak Grove United Methodist Church. Edward is survived by his wife of 57 years Virginia Eisenhardt of Decatur, daughter Jan and her husband Dick Hays of Norcross, Ga., sons Edward and his wife Mary of Lawrenceville, Ga. and  Robert and his wife Lois of Decatur, Ga., and his sister Barbara Weiss of Kansas City, Kansas.  He also has seven grandsons; Robert Hays and his wife Julie and  their daughter Cassidy of Portland, OR., John Hays of Atlanta, Ga., Blake and Daniel Eisenhardt of Lawrenceville, Ga., and Robert, Eric and Alex of Decatur, Ga.  Also survived by sister-in-laws, Rebekah McNeill of Mount Pleasant, S.C., and Jean Eager of Albany, Ga; and many beloved nieces and nephews.The body will be cremated and a private graveside service will be held at Westview Cemetery at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Edward's name to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Road, Decatur, Georgia 30033-1299.  A.
