Ethel Audrey Shipp

Audrey (Ethel) Stubbs was born on October 26, 1923 in Lumpkin, Georgia out of the marriage union of Jim and Eldora Stubbs. She was the 12th of twelve children born to Jim and Eldora.
Ethel went both to grammar and high school in Lumpkin. She met and married her husband Howard Shipp shortly after graduating from high school; they moved to Cusetta, Georgia for a short period of time before moving to Columbus, Georgia to began a family. She became the beloved mother of 5 children: Margaret, Gwenolyn, Howard Jr., Micheal Dean, and Frances whom she loved dearly.
Ethel and Howard moved to Youngstown, Ohio when the children were in grammar school. She was a devoted mother that spent as much time with her children as possible. Once all the children were school age, she began her working career with Southside Hospital where she worked for more than 40 years, retiring in 1990. Ethel was very active in her church, assisting dearly beloved friends and gained the respect of everyone in the community.
Ethel passed from this world on Thursday, March 14, 2019, leaving a host of family and friends to mourn her passing: her daughters Margaret, Gwen, and France's; 10 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and dearly beloved friends.
Ethel's daughters(all living)and(sons Howard & Michael,both deceased) would concur with the following remarks):
We thank the GOD of heaven and earth for giving us such a sweet, loving, and hard working mother, whose heart was always-filled with love and concern for us.
Thank you for showing us how to be self-sacrificing and loving. You always put our needs, before your own and we love you. You will always be a part of us and we will never, ever forget the sacrifices you made in our be-half. We thank-you for the love you always showed us. How will we ever fill this void in our hearts and lives? We will miss you terribly! This is a sad day for us all!
