Evelyn Elizabeth Peters

Evelyn Elizabeth Reese Peters, 93, of Decatur, Georgia passed away on May 6, 2014 at Hospice Atlanta. Mrs. Peters was born in McCormick, South Carolina and was raised in Augusta Georgia but spent most of her adult life as the wife of a career Navy man making a home for her family far from her Southern roots but wherever Uncle Sam sent them. She is predeceased by husband Irvin Wilby Peters, Jr., parents, Henry Jennings Reese and Margaret Elizabeth Christian Reese, and sisters Frances Walton, Sadie Mendel, and Alma Harris. She is survived by sons Brian Peters of Jacksonville, Florida, Bruce Peters and wife Sarah of Knoxville Tennessee, daughter Gayle Kimball and husband Charles of Decatur, Georgia, grandchildren Andrew Kimball and wife Suzanne, Amy Lopez and husband Adam and much loved great-grandchildren Madeleine, Charlie, Rose and Miles. Graveside services will be held 11:00 am Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens in Snellville, Georgia. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Children's Healthcare of Atlanta - outpatient rehab. A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home and Crematory.
