F. L. S. Whitlow

F.L.S. (Stan) Whitlow, age 77, of Atlanta, GA formerly of Carnesville, GA died peacefully at his home on Friday, March 4, 2005.  He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years, Jane McFarland Whitlow.  He is survived by his two daughters and sons-in-law, Gayle and Don West of Alpharetta, and Janet and Carson Kennedy of Atlanta; and grandchildren, Ashley and Zachary West, Chandler, Rossie, and Callie Kennedy.  Mr. Whitlow attended the University of Georgia.  He served his country faithfully in the U.S. Navy on the USS Restart, USS Molala, and USS Ata in the Asiatic Pacific, and he was discharged as Second Lieutenant from the U.S. Air Force in 1955.  Mr. Whitlow?s vision was to own his own company and be his own boss.  He created F.L.S. Whitlow & Company and WhitCo Products.  He and his wife worked side by side for 35 years.  The pride of Mr. Whitlow?s life was his family.  He loved flying and his Georgia Bulldogs.  He will be remembered as a loving husband, devoted father, and friend who enjoyed escaping to his cabin on Lake Lanier.  The family will receive friends at the home of his daughter, Janet, on Friday, March 11, from 6:30 to 8:00 pm.  A graveside service will be at Arlington Memorial Park on Saturday, March 12 at 2 pm.  A family gathering will be at his home in Alpharetta after the service.  In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be make to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Road, Decatur, GA  30033-1299.  A.S.
