Fabor Colette Vaughn Corbett

January 18, 1953 — February 11, 2021

Fabor Corbett, age 68, passed away Feb.11, 2021, from COVID, after a month of valiant care at Northside Hospital. An Atlanta native, she grew up in East Atlanta, then Chamblee and Norcross in her teenage years. She graduated from Norcross High, married young, and moved to Berlin, Germany. After returning to Atlanta, her dear daughter, Amy Donahue, was born. Fabor bravely became a single parent a few years later. In 1978, she met Bob Corbett. He became the love of her life, a sweet new dad to Amy, and her best friend. They married in 1982 and would have celebrated their 39th anniversary in April.

Fabor worked for 20 years in the Reprographics Dept. for Harrison Conference Service at the Bell South Learning Center at Executive Park. She went on to work part time for Lawrence Animal Hospital and at her one-lady cleaning service. Her last job was for her beloved Treasure Mart consignment shop in Chamblee. Fabor was artistic and creative, with a keen sense of observation. She learned pottery at Mud Fire Studios and became one of their studio "Rangers". She made lovely wheel thrown and hand built pieces. She created mixed media doll-like sculptures, wrote poetry for special occasions, and had the world's prettiest earring collection.

She and Bob hosted delicious Thanksgiving and Easter dinners for many years. Her cornbread dressing was The Best and she made extra casseroles for all to take home. She loved her dear cats, many that had been strays. She drew much comfort and enjoyment from them through the years.

Fabor was perhaps best known for her humor and sharp wit! She had a gift for finding the funny story in almost any situation. Many who have shared these laughs will no doubt continue to think of her and be able to find humor in unlikely places. Her dear granddaughter, Christina, had many sweet laughs with her Nana.

She was predeceased by her mother, Margie, in 1965, and her father, George Vaughn, in 2002. In addition to Bob, she is survived by her daughter, Amy Hagar of Atl, (& her husband, Mark) granddaughter, Christina Corbett of Atl., grandson, Brandon Harmon of Port Saint Lucy, Fl., sister, Rene' V. Kane of Atl., (Paul), stepmother, Jane V. Ashburn of Winder, (Charlie) brothers, Chris Vaughn of Freeport, Fl. (Robin), Patrick Vaughn of Watkinsville, (Leslie), Bryan Vaughn of Winterville, nieces and nephews, Amelia and Austin V. Kane, and Abbey, Christopher, Eli, Jack, Brooks, Maddie, Claire, and Miles Vaughn, and lifelong friends.

If donations wish to be given, please consider a local animal shelter. A memorial service is tentatively set for April 3rd, but please check A.S. Turner & Sons website for updates.
