Fielding Launius Williams

July 30, 1923 — June 8, 2007

Mr. Fielding Launius "Decatur" Williams, Jr., 83, of Decatur died Friday, June 8, 2007. He was a native of Statham, GA, and graduated from Boys High School in Atlanta. Mr. Williams was a member and deacon of Druid Hills Presbyterian Church, and a member of the Clarion Sunday School class. He was in the insurance business for 45 years and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan. He is survived by his wife, Constance S. Williams; sister, Nannette Williams Rockey; daughter, Rebecca Williams Tyler, son and daughter-in-law, Larry A. Williams and Patti S. Williams; daughter, Marsha Williams Smith; grandsons, Jonathan Bradley Tyler and wife Lanette Y. Tyler, Joshua Stewart Smith and wife Terrica H. Smith, Mitchell James Williams, Caleb Andrew Smith; and great granddaughters, Jane Esther Tyler and Suzanne Elena Tyler. Memorial services will be held at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 12th in the chapel of A. S. Turner & Sons with Rev. Jerry Coling officiating. A private committal will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may send donations to the American Heart Association, 2951 Flowers Rd., South, Suite 211, Atlanta, GA 30341-4146. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Tuesday at A. S. Turner & Sons.
