Miss Frances Lillian Dawes peacefully passed away late Sunday, September 12, 2010. She was born to the late Frances K. Smith Dawes and Edgar E. Dawes in Atlanta on March 13, 1923. Frances attended Girls High School and Georgia State College. She is survived by her sister, Mrs. (Wm. F.) Mary Linda Bishop of Lake Burton; nieces, Valerie F. Bishop, Cumming, Patricia L. Roland, Alexandria, VA; nephews, Stephen D. (wife-Ellen) Bishop, Decatur; Robert E. (wife-Pam) Bishop, Mt. Pleasant, SC; 9 great nieces and nephews; 12 great great nieces and nephews. Frances worked for many years in inventory control for Bishop & Brogdon, electrial manufactures� agent. She was a member of the Beta Epsilon Omega sorority. She sang the praises to the Lord in the choirs of Church of Our Savior and St. Phillips Cathedral, and was a Daughter of The King. For many years, she traveled with the Atlanta Skylarks Club all over the world. She retired to Decatur and lived at Clairmont Place for 17 years. For the past three years, she lived in the Montclair Assisted Living wing. She became a member of Holy Trinity Parish. Frances� family would like to thank the HTP flower guild for always keeping fresh flowers in Frances� room, the constant stream of lay pastoral visitors and the Eucharistic Visitors who brought her the �Bread of Life and the Cup of Salvation�, the caregivers at DeKalb Medical Center and the nurses in the ICU unit who made Frances� transition from this life to the next so peaceful. Frances was surrounded with love and support from so many, especially those at Montclair and the family is so very grateful. The funeral will be held in the chapel of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, 515 E. Ponce de Leon Ave., Decatur, GA 30030 at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 16th. A brief reception will follow and burial at Westview Cemetery afterwards. The family requests in lieu of flowers please make a donation to Holy Trinity Parish Flower Guild. A. S. Turner & Sons
