Frances Thomas Walker

Frances Thomas Walker, 92, passed away Friday, June 13, 2014. She was born September 22, 1921 in Birmingham, Alabama. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank Garrett and Thelma Hopkins Thomas; brother, Frank H. Thomas; and sister, Ruth T. Flurschutz. Survivors include her loving husband of 71 years, Fred L. Walker, Jr.; one brother, Dr. Robert L. Thomas; four children, Patti (Ned) Giles, Fred (Libby) L. Walker, III, Frank T. Walker and Alex S. Walker; and two grandchildren, Mary Frances Giles and Katherine Walker Giles. The funeral service will be at 11:00 am on Friday, June 20, at A.S. Turner Funeral Home, with Rev. Frank Thomas officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service. The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in her name be made to your favorite charity.
