Frederick Wallace Davis

October 25, 1941 — February 8, 2011

Mr. Frederick Wallace Davis III, of Monroe, formerly of Conyers & Atlanta, passed away Tuesday, February 8, 2011. Born in Atlanta, GA on October 25, 1941, he was a 1959 graduate of Roosevelt High School and grew up near Grant Park. He attended John Marshall Law School and was retired from DeKalb County Parks and Recreation as Manager of Maintenance. Mr. Davis is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Gary Griffin, Salem, SC; his son, Robert Davis, Buford, GA; his son and daughter-in-law, Chad and Candace Ely Davis, Monroe, GA; his grandchildren, Stephen and Michael Davis and Samuel, Riley and Hunter Davis; his great grandson, Kristopher; his sisters, Barbara Campbell, Janice Cole and Melanie Solone; his brothers, Alan Davis, Sr. and Gregory Davis; and numerous other relatives. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 12th in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association or to Niños con Valor (Girls with Valor), In honor of Fred Davis, PO Box 223, New Hampton, NH 03256. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 12:00 to 2:00 pm at A. S. Turner and Sons, Decatur.
