Gail Norton Ridgely

Gail Norton Ridgely, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister & friend passed away at the age of 85 on Sunday, February 6th, at Cobblestone Nursing Home. She was surrounded by family, friends and caregivers who loved her so very much. Born in Lenoir, NC, and spending most of her life in the Atlanta area, Gail was a true Southern lady that loved life, laughter, adventure and her family. Gail is preceded in death by both of her husbands, her parents, James & Lucille Clay, two sisters and a brother. Gail was married to Avery Wilson Norton for 42 years and was later married to Benjamin Rush Ridgely for 15 years. She is survived by her daughters Sherry Mask & her husband Lamar, Becky Miles & her husband Keith, Teresa Ebersberger & her husband Len; grandchildren Avery Allen Harper (Cathy), Julian Glenn Woods III (Kelli), Justin Bennett Miles and Chandler Marshall Miles; great grandchildren Katie Ryan and Lindsey Cunningham; and a host of family & friends who will miss her dearly. The family will receive visitors Tuesday, February 8, 2011, from 5-7 p.m. at A.S. Turner & Sons, 2773 North Decatur Road, Decatur Ga. 30033. Funeral Services to celebrate her life will be Wednesday, February 9, 2011 at 11 AM at North Decatur United Methodist Church, 1523 Church Street, Decatur, Ga. 30030. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to North Decatur United Methodist Church. The family would like to express our appreciation to all of the staff at Cobblestone for the tender loving care they gave our mother during this last year.
