George Callinicos

June 18, 1939 — July 15, 2021

George Callinicos died peacefully on July 15, 2021 of natural causes. George was an intelligent and peaceful man, a voracious reader and student of history. He dedicated his life and soul to his loving wife Lilian (Evangelia), living just shy of celebrating their 48th Wedding Anniversary this coming Thursday, July 29th. George and Lilian were always by each other’s side, holding hands in public places and in church. They had a love, dedication, a sharing of common interests, and devotion to one another that most people could only dream of. He was kind and respectful to everyone he met or knew. Whilst he was of Greek Heritage, more specifically from the beautiful island of Ithaca, he was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1939. George and Lilian moved to Atlanta, Georgia in the year 2000 for a better life. They worked together in their own hospitality businesses. His laugh was distinctive and contagious. Besides his loving wife, Lilian, he is survived by his niece, Olga, and nephews, Gary and Don, as well as Lilian's brothers and sisters and extended family. The family as a whole was better for having and knowing him. In lieu of flowers, please make contributions in memory of George to the Dementia Society of America by mail to PO Box 600, Doylestown, PA 18901, or online at https://www.dementiasociety.org/donate
