Mr. George E. Trott, 95, a longtime resident of Decatur and a native Atlantan died Friday, August 15, 2008. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Grace Moore Trott. Mr. Trott was a longtime member of the Decatur First Christian Church, the Beacon Sunday School Class, and the Fun and Travel Club where he met his wife, Mrs. Mildred Russell Trott. He retired from the Atlanta Journal - Constitution after 40 years of service and was a member of their 25 year club. Mr. Trott was also longtime active member of the North Decatur Lions Club. Surviving are his wife, Mildred Russell Trott; daughter and son-in-law, Gloria Trott Fellows and Robert N. Fellows Jr. of Orange Park, FL; grandson, Robert T. Fellows of Jacksonville, FL; sister, Mrs. Frances Evans of Carrollton; Mildred’s children, Linda Middlebrooks of Woodenville, WA, Mary Masterson of Lawrenceville; and many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, August 17th at 2:00 PM at A. S. Turner & Sons with the Reverend Dr. James Brewer-Calvert officiating. Interment will follow at HistoricDecaturCemetery. For those who prefer contributions may be made to the Decatur First Christian Church, 601 W. Ponce de Leon, Decatur, GA 30030. Friends are invited to visit with the family Saturday afternoon from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at A. S. Turner & Sons.
