Glen Elvin Cornell, 95, a resident of Philips Tower, Decatur died Friday, November 13, 2009. Glen was captivated by aviation and was a proud employee of Delta Air Lines for over 30 years. He was a loving and gentle husband and father, and above all, a faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Glen was a member of Central Presbyterian Church in Atlanta, and formerly belonged to Druid Hills Presbyterian Church, Atlanta; Westminster Presbyterian Church, Snellville, and College Park Presbyterian Church. Glen was predeceased by his wife of 58 years, Marion Elizabeth West, and is survived by his son, Gary & Mary Jane Cornell, Decatur, GA; and daughters Daryl Dally, Atlanta; Velva Lee & Phillip Lanzarotta, Auburn, CA, and Sheryl & Charles Cantwell, Hartwell, GA. He is also survived by grandchildren, Alex and Glen Cornell, Suzette, Phillip, Mark, and Kris Lanzarotta, Robyn Moore, and eight great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held Sunday, November 22, at Central Presbyterian Church, Atlanta, at 2:00 PM. The family will receive friends Friday, November 20, 5-8:00PM at A.S. Turner & Sons in Decatur and at Central Presbyterian Church following Sunday's Memorial Service. The family suggests memorial gifts to the Central Presbyterian Church Building Accessibility Fund.
