Gregory T. Maloof

Gregory T. Maloof, a loving father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend to many, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 3, with his family by his side.

Greg was a native of Atlanta, born in 1947 to Manuel and Dolly Maloof. Greg attended Immaculate Conception Academy as a young child and St. Pius X High School. Greg loved the people and institutions that made up Atlanta. He worked for the Atlanta Journal and Constitution, his family's iconic business, Manuel's Tavern, and participated in the growth of the City of Atlanta as a residential housing and commercial contractor. Greg was an active member in The NABA Club where he enjoyed spending quality time with his dear friends. Greg's kind heart and zest for life and others will be missed.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Amanda and Ralph Linn; and his granddaughters, Sophia and Lily, of Austin, TX. He is also survived by his siblings: Michael Maloof and his wife, Sally, Christine Kempton and her husband, Owen, Johnny Maloof and his wife, Jan, Jerry Maloof and his wife, Mora, David Maloof, and Brian Maloof and his wife, Margie.

In addition to his parents, Greg was preceded in death by his brother, Tommy Maloof.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at St. John Chrysostom Catholic Church. Following the memorial service, a celebration of Greg's life will be held at Manuel's Tavern.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that contributions be made to The NABA Club, 1809 Briarwood Road, Atlanta, Georgia 30329 or St. Pius X High School, 2674 Johnson Road NE, Atlanta, Georgia 30345.
