Gwendolyn Elizabeth Boone

Gwendolyn Boone departed for her heavenly home on Saturday May 21, 2022, in Tucker, Georgia. She was 92 years old.

Gwendolyn met and married the love of her life, Irving Boone and to this union were born two daughters, Karen, Debra (Ngandu) and one son Michael (Bernadette).

A native of Illinois, Gwendolyn was a homemaker for many years prior becoming a teacher’s assistant in Harvey, Illinois, where she worked with children with learning disabilities.  Even after she retired, she would encounter her former students and encourage them to stay on the right path.

She was active in the church as a member of the choir and eventually as mother of the church. In her later years, she was an active participant in senior activities, enjoyed attending plays, musicals, and going out to dinner.

Gwendolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew Sr., Mattie, her siblings Jeanne, Andrew Jr., and husband Irving. Gwendolyn is survived by and lovingly remembered by her children, Karen, Debra, and Michael, her grandchildren, and a host of nieces, and nephews.

She will be laid to rest alongside her husband, Irving in a private burial service at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

A Celebration of life memorial service to be scheduled for July/August 2022.
