Hannah Louisa Shapiro

January 9, 2004 — August 18, 2020

“My joy is greater. My heart is fuller. My love is deeper. My hope is broader. My life is richer and my faith is stronger because you were a part of my life.”

Hannah, our sweet girl, chose her wings the morning of August 18, 2020, in her home in Tucker, GA. Her wings must have been the most glorious of wings, because she waited an eternity for them. She is now hand-in-hand with her brother Jake, twirling and dancing, leaping from star to star. We were so incredibly blessed to be chosen as this amazing girl's parents. She had just the right combination of sparkle and sass. She was wise beyond words and taught unconditional love, grace, and faith to everyone whose life she touched. She chose her wings with such a gentle and soft whisper, and on her own terms, just as Hannah led her life. In a body that provided so much care, Hannah was a warrior and fiercely independent. Our sweet Hannah knew only everlasting love and will be intertwined with us until the end of time.

Hannah is survived by her parents, Stephanie and Paul Rabstejnek and Kelly Shapiro, grandmother Barbara Klock of Grand Island, NY and Annette and Murphy Shapiro off Rochester, NY. She is preceded in death by her brother James “Jake” Shapiro, and her grandfather James P. Klock. Hannah is also survived by her aunts and uncles Michelle and Tom Taylor, Jennifer Klock, Colleen and John Bowles, Bethann and Jim Ord, Casey and Sarah Shapiro, Corey and Steve Aronstam, and cousins Chloe, Arames, Benjamin, Carley, Parker, Taylor, and Charlotte. Visitation (2:00 pm -4:00pm) and memorial services (4:00pm) will be held at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home on Saturday, August 29, 2020.

During these challenging times of COVID-19, capacity for her visitation and service will be limited, with the utmost care in place to ensure safety for all who loved our girl. Hannah’s service will be live streamed through Zoom and Facebook Live.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to FOCUS at www.focus-ga.org and Island Dolphin Care at www.islanddolphincare.org ; both organizations lovingly contributed in creating a world for Hannah to experience joy and possibilities.

We are so very thankful to all the doctors, health care providers and friends that touched Hannah’s life. Thank you for being a part of our girl's story.

“I love her and that’s the beginning and the end of everything." F. Scott Fitzgerald
