Hazel P. Hooks

Hazel P. Hooks, died on December, 25, 2011 at the age of 87. She was married to George B. Hooks and a member of Tucker First Baptist Church. She is survived by her 3 children, Gayle H. Smith, Janis H. Williams, and Byron and Nel Hooks; 4 grandchildren, Matthew Smith, Stephen Smith, Levi Williams, and Sarah Williams; and 4 great-granddaughters, Clara Williams, Jahnavi Williams, Peyton Smith, and Iris Smith. Hazel grew up in East Atlanta with her brother and 8 sisters. She was loved by everyone who knew her and will always be remembered for her infectious laugh and steadfast love of family. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, December 28 in the chapel of A.S. Turner and Sons, Decatur. Interment will follow at Floral Hills Memory Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Diabetes Association. The family will receive friends Tuesday, December 27, 2-4pm and 6-8pm at A.S. Turner and Sons.
