Heidi Christine Miller

On Sunday, October 9, 2022, Heidi Christine Miller, loving daughter, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully at the age of 55 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family and friends who will continue to honor her legacy by living life to the fullest.

Heidi was born in Americus, Georgia on June 27, 1967. She graduated from Americus High School and obtained an accounting certificate from Georgia State University. Heidi went on to work for over 30 years as a credit manager in the building materials industry in Atlanta, Georgia, loved by many customers and colleagues throughout the years.

Heidi was known for her nurturing and compassionate spirit, good sense of humor, giving nature, big heart, and contagious laughter. She was an artist and avid animal lover. Her pride was being known as ‘Aunt Heidi’ to Samantha, Ansley, Lily, Olivia, Riley, and Grayson. Heidi was deeply passionate about animals, especially the many rescue cats she cared for who were born under her Buick during the pandemic. The simplest pleasures in life brought great joy to Heidi; she was talented with crafts and enjoyed creating pieces to give to loved ones, she loved a quiet evening with friends with a Bacardi and Diet Coke in hand, and she had an uncanny ability to find happiness in her daily activities. Heidi was authentically and wholeheartedly there for those in her life. Her pleasant personality was contagious to everyone she met. Heidi truly left a remarkable impression on the world. She will be missed by family, friends, colleagues, and neighbors.

Heidi is survived by her mother, Patricia, and step-father, Wayne, brothers, Shannon (Kelly), and Patrick, nephews, Jonathan (Kaiti) and Kolin, niece, Peyton (Cody), their children, and lifelong friends who provided compassionate care in the end, Jake Newell, Eileen Otwell, Susan Wilson Bates, Tracy Harris, the Sieg Family, and the Wilson Family.

Heidi was preceded in death by her father, Carney.

A celebration of life will be held on November 4, 2022 at 2:00 P.M. at A.S. Turner & Sons (2773 N. Decatur Road, Decatur, GA 30033), with a public reception to follow at The Grove Restaurant and Tavern (2761 Lavista Rd, Decatur, GA 30033). Family and friends are invited to come and share fond memories and stories.
