Herbert Philip Joe

Herbert Philip Joe passed away at home on November 7, 2020. Herbert was born in Augusta, Georgia on June 15, 1932 to the late Fong and Bessie Joe. He is preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, William Joe, Frances Hom, Elizabeth Joe, Albert Joe, George Joe, Harry Joe, Robert Joe, Edward Joe and Ruth Chen.
Herbert is survived by loving wife Rosa of 63 years, and children Edward, Chris (Sue), Debra (Randy) and Cindy (Dominic) and grandchildren Elizabeth, Samantha, Steven, Jordan, Heather and Randy Jr. He is also survived by his sister, Pauline Holleran.
Herbert joined the U.S. Army and served in peacetime in Germany following the Korean War Armistice. He returned to Atlanta, GA and graduated from Georgia Tech in Industrial Management. He retired from Lockheed Martin in 1997. Herbert was an active member of Embry Hills United Methodist Church, The Dolphin Project and a volunteer at the Georgia Aquarium for over 12 years. One of his more memorable experiences was volunteering for the 1996 Olympics in Atlanta. His hobbies included fishing, golfing, photography and travel.
Services will be at A.S. Turner and Sons Funeral Home, 2773 N. Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033. Visitation will be from 11:30 am - 1:00 pm followed by a service at 1:00pm.
